Corporate Leader to Store Owner-it sure is different!

Wow, after an incredible 30-year journey in corporate retail, I finally took the plunge this year to open my very own retail store and become my own boss! I've always had a deep passion for retail, stemming from my traditional values of exceptional service, genuine connections with customers, and unwavering enthusiasm for the products I offer. In the corporate world, everything from visuals to marketing, promotions to purchasing, and policies to procedures were all handed down from above. But now, as the mastermind behind my own store, I get to create and implement every aspect myself. And you know what? I'd say I'm off to a fantastic start - giving myself an A!

What an incredible journey I've been on! One of the most exciting changes for me has been transitioning from leading teams of 30-80 people to now tackling challenges mostly on my own (with occasional help from my daughters, who are absolute stars when they pitch in!). My coaching and motivational skills have always been my trademark, and I thrived on asking the tough questions, sparking insightful conversations, and witnessing team members conquer new concepts with pride. Collaborating with leaders from other stores allowed me to build a diverse network of knowledge-sharing and growth. Though I now focus on running a single store, I still cherish the deep connections I've forged, with some reaching out for my unwavering support. While I seek a new business network, I'm eager to find like-minded individuals who can help fill the void and continue this amazing journey with me!

Every day, I am passionately building my brand and witnessing the incredible impact I am making on my customers. It is truly fulfilling! I am overjoyed to provide the wonderful experience of in-person shopping to expecting mothers. The sound of their laughter in the fitting room when they try on their first maternity outfit brings me so much joy. Their excitement when they slip into maternity jeans they never want to take off is contagious! I am thrilled that some customers have returned multiple times since my opening, and a few have even introduced their newborn babies to me. This is the reason I took the leap, and I am so grateful for these moments!
